Thank you to so many of you for asking how we are doing in this flood. Our house is fine as I've said before, but many people we know have lost pretty much everything. Water, just like fire, is SO destructive. Yes, you can save some things that have gotten wet and you can't save anything if it is burnt, but still. Just destructive.
South Main Designs is inoperable for a little while yet because our server was fried and the basement of our building was FULL of water. It smells horrible in there and they can't run the air conditioning/ventilation system yet. Bleck.
My heart just goes out to all of the people who have lost so much, not just in our town but in all of the surrounding towns. I just set a ton of stuff out by the street that was ruined in our basement and that is NOTHING compared to what other people have lost. My Aunt lost everything and most people on her street did. You drive down their street and yards are FULL of wet, nasty smelling ruined things from their house. Sofas, torn out carpet, pictures, everything.
So, keep this whole area in your prayers and the people. It will take a long time before people feel normal again.

Wow! The hubby and I were in the area this past weekend, in fact we saw your parents at church... we didn't get a chance to talk to them though. We stayed at a hotel in Flag City and were amazed at the piles of probably once treasured things that were now just sitting on the curb as junk. Driving through the country we noticed farmers fiels that were destroyed or unable to be harvested because of the inability to get machinery in the soggy fields. Many thoughts are with you.
